About Us

TERRU is a small-batch specialty coffee roastery based in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Our name is inspired by TERROIR the unique interaction between place, climate, soil, variety and craftsmanship that shapes the character of every coffee.

The idea behind TERRU was also shaped by travel. Experiencing different landscapes, cultures and coffee-growing regions created a deeper appreciation for the relationship between origin and flavour. It became clear that coffee is never simply a product, but an expression of a particular place and moment.

We select coffees with a distinct sense of origin and roast them with care to preserve clarity, balance and character. Rather than imposing a single house style, we aim to reveal what is already present in the coffee.

Behind every cup is a landscape, a harvest and the people who made it possible. Our role is simply to let that origin speak.
